People along the river Avon in Stratford, U.K. were astonished at the sight of a VLS (Very Large Sausage) making its way up river, knocking boats out of the way and in some places becoming stuck so that it had to wriggle its way free. The police were called to deal with it but they knew it was hopeless because VLSes don't take orders from the police; they don't have to. Still the officers tried. "This is the Stratford police and we order you to come on shore!" The VLS just kept slowly cruising by. "VLS, if you don't come ashore immediately, you will be arrested for disobeying an order and for resisting arrest!" "Sure. And where do they think they'll put the handcuffs," the VLS chuckled to itself. "They have no idea who they're dealing with, don't even know me, and they're not very friendly." As the VLS continued to float upriver, the police moved about a mile ahead to set up a large net across the river. Eventually th...
In 1947 a painting was donated to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. It depicted Jesus walking on the water, stretching his arm out over a boat full of sailors lost at sea. The Jesus in the picture had long, blond or light brown hair. It bothered me because I have never like paintings of Jesus. There are many renditions, none of which represent the real Jesus, and I consider them all to be idolatrous. In 2023, Joe Biden had the painting moved into the basement because of a complaint. Now, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is planning to bring it back to it's "rightful place." Sailors at the academy cheered the decision. I have long detested statues, religious pictures, crucifixes etc., to all be idolatrous. After reading the article about the painting, I commented on it and said it's not the real Jesus, and it is idolatrous. I expected to get berated for my comment, and I was. I have just finished listening to a sermon by Paul Washer – an evangelist I deeply res...
I've been watching a series of videos about prosperity gospel preachers, every one of them a fake. Then one came up by the name of Billy Burke. It instantly aroused the anger in me. I attended a Black church in Maryland for six nights at the recommendation of a friend because Billy Burke was coming to lead a revival. Burke bragged about his expensive shoes, and held up a foot to let us all see. He said he deserves them. During the final night's service, a basket was passed around for the collection. Burke asked the minister how much was collected. When she told him, he held up his hands and ordered the music to stop. He said the giving was pathetic and ordered the basket to be sent around, again. When that collection was done, again he asked the minister how much was collected. When she told him, he went into a rage and said that he doesn't need the money but we were all robbing God. It was a poor community, and people had planned on what they could afford to give. Burk...
